Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Walk Audits and Workshop
MPO staff conducted a week of walk-bike safety audits at five elementary schools across Palm Beach County, working with school communities to identify safety concerns and opportunities to improve conditions for students walking and biking to school. These efforts culminated in a Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Workshop that brought together community members, local leaders, and partner agencies to review findings and discuss strategies to improve safety and accessibility. The workshop featured guest speaker Dan Burden, who shared insights from more than 50 years of experience in walkability and Safe Routes to School, providing valuable context to the discussions.
